Pricing

Halaska publishes its prices so you can tell whether we fit before the first call.

There are three ways to work with us: a product audit at $5,000, a design partnership from $12,000 a month, and Immersive, with Chris hands-on, from $20,000 a month. Defined product projects start at $16,000.

Every number below is USD. AED pricing is on our Dubai page.

Ways to work with us

Design partner

Your senior product design team, every week

Senior designers do the work, a design lead runs it, and Chris sets direction and reviews everything that ships. Product UX, UI, the design system and core flows prototyped in code.

The right fit when you have a shipped product, an engineering team and a roadmap that needs a design function without hiring one. Pause or stop with 30 days’ notice.

Immersive

Chris in your product,
with a team behind him

At capacity

Chris works hands-on in your product each week, with direct founder access. Built for products without a pattern to copy yet: a new AI product from zero, or a trading product where the interaction model is the product.

Clients at this tier have included Pascal, plus AI products under NDA. Two run at a time, never more.

Product audit

A clear view of your product
and what to fix first

A focused review of your product’s UX, UI and design system, delivered as a prioritised plan and a walkthrough call.

Defined product projects

Fixed scope, fixed price, one number at the end of the proposal. Final payment is due on handover of the agreed deliverables, not on your launch date, because launches slip for reasons outside our control.

Product design, milestone project

$16,000 to $120,000

From a scoped set of flows or a design system at the low end, to the whole product at the high end: strategy, research, core workflows, prototypes in code, design system and handover. Most teams at that scale move to a partnership; milestones are here for the ones who need a fixed number.

MVP design and prototype

$16,000 to $30,000

A new product’s core flows designed from scratch and built as a working prototype in code, ready for your engineers to build. Different from Dash, which polishes something already built.

The minimum for any defined project is $16,000. Brand and website work is available to product clients as an add-on. For a smaller job, Dash runs fixed-price one-week sprints at dash.halaska.com.

What changes the price

  • How much of Chris’s time the work needs. The $12k tier is operator-led with his review; the $20k tier is him in the room.

  • How much gets prototyped. A clickable flow sits at the low end; a working prototype of the whole core experience at the high end.

  • Stage and readiness. Funded teams with an engineering lead and a decision-maker on the call move faster and pay less for the same outcome than teams that need us to fill those gaps.

  • Rush. We quote it, we don’t discount it.

What we don’t do

We don’t discount. We don’t take equity or tokens in place of fees. We don’t run unlimited-request subscriptions. We don’t quote without a conversation about the product, because the number depends on what it needs, not on a menu.

The exact shape and price of a partnership comes out of a conversation, because it depends on what your product needs, not on a menu. What the studio can tell you now: the studio doesn’t discount, the studio doesn’t take equity as payment, and the studio caps the number of clients the studio works with so the work stays senior. If the floor above is outside your budget, Dash might be the right door, and the studio will tell you honestly if it is.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer?

Can't find your answer?

1

How much does a product design retainer cost?

At Halaska, a product audit is $5,000, a team-led design partnership starts at $12,000 a month, and Immersive, where Chris leads the work, starts at $20,000 a month. The wider market for a senior studio runs from about $5,000 to $25,000 a month depending on seniority and capacity.

2

What does the monthly retainer include?

Senior product design capacity, prototypes in code, updates every Tuesday and Thursday, a dedicated Slack channel, design files and code your engineers can ship from, and Chris reviewing everything that goes out.

3

How much should a Series A startup budget for product design?

Between $12,000 and $25,000 a month for an outsourced senior design function, or $16,000 to $30,000 for a defined MVP project. A first in-house senior designer costs roughly 1.3 times salary once you add tooling and management, and takes three to six months to hire.

4

Do you negotiate on price?

No. We scope to your budget instead: if $16,000 is the number, we tell you what $16,000 buys.

5

Why publish prices at all?

Because most studios don’t, and it wastes everyone’s first call. If the floor is out of range, you know now.
